The Journalist Johan Goldberg wrote an article published in the Los Angeles Times in the Opinion section on Nov 13th: The Myth of endless wealth".

Today, Nov 17th, the Los Angeles Times published responses to the Goldberg article in the "Letters" section. There were 4 responses published.

All were opposed to Goldbergs position and observastions.

To properly understand, evaluate, and appreciate, the Response Letters, you have to take into consideration the geographical area of the circulation and readership of the Los Angeles Times.

It is read mostly in Los Angeles County.

Not necessarily in the areas of the County where English is not understood, or those that can speak some form of the English language, but can't read, or choose not to, but in areas called Hollywood,North Hollywood, and the Valley.

Those residents and readers, are probably 95% Democrats.

That being the case, the nature of the Responses can be properly evaluated when the politics of those Contributors is understood.

As is typical, The Real Substance of Goldberg's Article was never addressed.

And that is: Is it FAIR FOR THE TOP 1% OF INCOME EARNERS IN THE UNITED STATES TO PAY 40% OF PERSONAL INCOME TAXES?

Perhaps the Legislators, at all levels of Government, being mostly Christians, get the idea of PERCENTAGES from the BIBLE.

THAT PART ABOUT TITHING.

Perhaps I can accept that those that buy more expensive cars, more expensive gas, more expensive insurance, more expensive hotel rooms, more expensive homes, more expensive watches, more expensive clothes and accessories, more expensive food, more expensive entertainment, more expensive instruments, more expensive furniture, more expensive paintings, and more expensive anything, actually pay more SALES TAX OR EXCISE TAX, BECAUSE OF THEIR CHOICES.

THATS BECAUSE THE SALES TAX AND ALL EXCISE TAX, SUCH AS THE GAS TAX, ARE FLAT TAXES

THE SAME FOR EVERYONE.

I think there are those that believe we should have a Federal Classification assigned to all Citizens,

A tier type system.

A Number or a Letter would be Assigned for Each $10,000 of EARNINGS OR INCOME.

EVERY ITEM OR SERVICE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE WOULD HAVE A PRICE ASSIGNED BASED ON THE CLASSIFICATION OF THE CITIZEN.

Instead of the Best Seats at a Sports Event, or a Concert, being purchased based on the FREE MARKET CONCEPT, the Buyer would only pay based on his ability to pass, based on His Classification, as established by the Government.

How insane.

To my knowledge, we all pay the same for everything, regardless of our Race,Religion,Gender,or Income, EXCEPT INCOME TAXES.

HOW CAN ANYONE THINK, THAT SOMEBODY ELSE, SHOULD PAY MORE FOR NATIONAL DEFENSE, POLICE, AND EVERY OTHER GOVERNMENT SERVICE.

If low income People want to reduce the Percentage of their income they pay for anything, THEY SHOULD WORK TO EARN MORE INCOME WHICH WOULD SERVE TO REDUCE THEIR PERCENTAGE OF INCOME PAID FOR ANYTHING.

THIS IS WHAT DISTINGUISHES THE UNITED STATES FROM EVERYONE ELSE IN THE WORLD, AND GOD KNOWS, THE SYSTEM HASN'T WORKED.
